Meet Jackson

Jackson is not only our first resident—he’s the soul of Paws of Grace Sanctuary. At just five years young, this sweet and resilient boy  experienced a life-threatening urinary blockage, a very serious complication of Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD).

FLUTD affects the bladder and urethra, and in Jackson’s case, it caused a dangerous obstruction that made it impossible for him to urinate. These blockages are not only painful but can be fatal without immediate treatment.

Jackson underwent Perineal Urethrostomy surgery—in which the narrow end of the male cat's urethra is surgically removed, and a new, wider opening is created to allow urine to pass.

Jackson handled his recovery like a champ, and his gentle nature has made won the hearts of many. He reminds us why Paws of Grace exists—to offer second chances to cats with complex medical needs, and to show that with the right care, every cat can thrive.

Meet Charlie

At just two years young, Charlie has already faced more dental challenges than most cats do in a lifetime.

Diagnosed with Juvenile Periodontal Disease, a severe form of gum disease, this condition occurs when the bone and tissue supporting the teeth begin to break down leading to swollen gums, discomfort, and difficulty eating. Without regular care, it can progress quickly and affect a cat’s overall health. Charlie has had seven teeth surgical removed, to date, while the others continue to be monitored.

Thanks to early intervention, regular dental treatments, and a soft, vet-approved diet, Charlie is thriving. He is playful, affectionate, and always ready to snuggle!

Charlie reminds us that medical needs do not define a cat—they just make their victories that much more meaningful. We’re proud to give him the comfort, care, and love he deserves here at Paws of Grace.

Meet Mia

Mia is a sweet and spirited two years young gal with a gentle soul and a strong will. She lives with feline asthma, a chronic respiratory condition that causes inflammation and narrowing of the airways, making it difficult for her to breathe at times—especially during flare-ups.

To manage her condition, Mia uses a special feline inhaler twice a day. It helps reduce airway inflammation and keeps her breathing easy and steady. An inhaler is put into an aerosol chamber called an Aerokat to administer the medication directly into her lungs.

Despite her medical routine, Mia is full of life, love, and curiosity. She purrs loudly, naps in the sun, and greets each day with a soft meow and a strong heart.

Mia is a daily reminder that even cats with chronic conditions can thrive with the right care—and lots of love.

Meet Vivian

Vivian came to Paws of Grace Sanctuary under heartbreaking circumstances. At just under two years young, she gave birth to three kittens. Tragically, one was lost due to an umbilical cord complication, and the trauma of the experience left Vivian overwhelmed and shut down—emotionally and physically rejecting her surviving babies.

This response can happen in cats for many reasons, including pain, illness, trauma, or extreme stress. It’s not a failure of motherhood—it’s a sign that the mother is in distress and needs urgent care.

Vivian received immediate veterinary attention, and to everyone’s relief, she was found to be physically healthy. That led us to believe the cause was emotional trauma—possibly from how she became pregnant, her birthing experience, or events from her unknown past.

Since arriving at the sanctuary, Vivian has slowly begun to heal. She’s learning to trust again, surrounded by love, patience, and understanding. Her quiet strength reminds us that recovery isn’t always linear, but every cat deserves the space to feel safe and whole again.

Vivian’s journey isn’t over, but she no longer walks it alone.

Meet Ezra

Ezra’s journey to Paws of Grace Sanctuary began in the most heartbreaking way—he was cruelly thrown onto a porch in Angola, NY, his body covered in painful sores and lesions. Weak, scared, and clearly suffering, Ezra was in desperate need of urgent medical care and compassion.

During his initial exam, veterinarians also discovered a granuloma under his tongue—a painful mass of inflamed tissue that can form in response to chronic irritation, allergies, or immune system dysfunction. In cats, oral granulomas can make eating uncomfortable and are often signs of deeper inflammation or trauma.

Despite everything he’s endured, Ezra is showing incredible strength. With proper veterinary treatment, a soothing environment, and a tailored care plan, his body is healing —and his spirit is, too.

Ezra is proof that even the most broken beginnings can lead to beautiful new chapters. He’s gentle, quiet, and slowly learning that he's finally safe and loved.

Meet Caroline

Caroline wasn’t part of any intake plan—but she found us. One late night, she appeared in our backyard, timidly searching for scraps beneath a bird feeder. In a neighborhood with no known strays, her sudden appearance was both unusual and concerning.

Though hesitant at first, she cautiously came to us and proceeded to eat six full cans of food, still wanting more. It was clear she had been on her own for far too long at just under a year old. Covered in ticks, with no microchip, collar, or local lost reports, Caroline’s past remains a mystery.

What we do know is that she needed help—and we couldn’t turn her away. Her gentle spirit and will to survive made her our exception to the rule, and she’s now a beloved resident at Paws of Grace Sanctuary.

Caroline is still learning to trust, but with patience and love, she’s blooming into the beautiful soul she was always meant to be.

Meet Simeon

Simeon came to Paws of Grace Sanctuary after being found wandering the streets of Niagara Falls, suffering from hair loss and a broken upper right canine tooth. When scanned for a microchip, the registered owner was reached —only to be told they no longer wanted him and had intentionally abandoned him outside.

At 9 years young, Simeon deserved a safe space and stability, not rejection. Despite the pain and confusion he must have felt, this quiet senior boy has remained incredibly gentle and gracious through every step of his recovery.

Now a cherished resident at the sanctuary, Simeon is receiving the medical care, comfort, and dignity he should have never been denied. His story is a powerful reminder of why Paws of Grace exists—to be a voice and safe haven for those who’ve been forgotten.

Simeon may carry the scars of his past, but his future is filled with nothing but love.

Meet Sophia

Sophia is a beautiful gal whose gentle nature masks a very real medical challenge: stress cystitis, also known as feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC). This condition causes painful inflammation of the bladder triggered by stress, leading to frequent urination, discomfort, and even urinary blockages in some cases.

While Sophia’s body is healthy, her condition is deeply tied to her emotional well-being. Sudden changes, loud noises, or even minor disruptions can flare up her symptoms—making a calm, predictable environment absolutely essential.

At Paws of Grace Sanctuary, Sophia has found the stability she needs. With a special diet, a stress-reducing routine, and a peaceful space to call home, she’s finally able to relax and just be a cat.

Sophia reminds us that invisible conditions are just as important to treat as visible ones—and that healing often starts with feeling safe

Meet Annabelle

Annabelle is a soft-spoken, deeply intuitive cat whose presence brings a sense of calm and quiet strength to Paws of Grace Sanctuary. After the sudden and heartbreaking passing of her beloved owner, Annabelle arrived with her feline companion, Stella—two lives uprooted by grief and uncertainty.

Naturally reserved, Annabelle tends to take her time observing her surroundings before engaging. She finds comfort in the familiar: curling up in cozy, tucked-away spaces or watching the world go by from a windowsill bathed in sunlight.

Annabelle’s story is one of love, loss, and slow, meaningful healing. She has endured a sudden shift no animal is ever prepared for, yet continues forward with grace. Though once bonded to Stella, the time at the sanctuary has revealed that Annabelle is content on her own path—discovering independence, stability, and the kind of gentle care that honors her pace.

Here at Paws of Grace, she is finally safe. And as each day passes, she’s learning that love can return in new forms, that comfort can be rebuilt, and that home is not a single person or place—it’s wherever she feels seen, safe, and cherished.

Meet Stella

Stella is a gentle, affectionate soul who brings quiet warmth and light to those lucky enough to know her. After the sudden and heartbreaking loss of her beloved owner, Stella arrived at Paws of Grace Sanctuary with her sister, Annabelle—two cats whose world had been turned upside down overnight.

Though she was understandably timid at first, Stella began to settle in slowly, finding solace in the smallest of comforts: a soft bed tucked away or the familiar rhythm of mealtime. For Stella, consistency and routine aren’t just preferences—they’re necessities, bringing her a sense of security as she navigates life after loss.

Over time, Stella has started to open her heart again, showing glimpses of her gentle affection through slow blinks, soft purrs, and her steady companionship.

Stella’s journey is one of quiet resilience—a powerful reminder that healing doesn’t always roar. Sometimes, it arrives softly and slowly, in peaceful spaces where love is offered without pressure and trust is given the time it needs to grow.

She reminds us that grace lives in the stillness, and that even through grief, with the right care and patience, peace can return.

Meet Olivia

Olivia came to Paws of Grace Sanctuary from Springville, NY alongside her beloved sister, who sadly passed away just a few months after their arrival. Their elderly owner suffered a fall and was no longer able to return home or provide the care they needed. This sudden change brought a lot of uncertainty for Olivia, who now faces the world without her closest companion by her side.

Olivia approaches the world with gentle caution and quiet resilience. She is a deeply reserved and timid soul, often retreating into the safety of her own space. Yet, beneath her shy exterior lies a tender and sensitive spirit that slowly emerges with patience and kindness. Olivia’s journey is one of healing and trust, a delicate process that reminds us all how important compassion and understanding are for every soul.

Her calm and quiet presence brings a sense of peace to the sanctuary, encouraging everyone to slow down, be gentle, and honor the individual paths of those who need love most.

Olivia’s story is a heartfelt testament to the sanctuary’s mission: to provide a safe, nurturing home where every cat can feel seen, cherished, and supported as they find their way forward.

Meet Penelope

Penelope is a quiet beauty with soulful eyes and a heart still learning how to trust. At five years young, she spent her early life surviving on a porch in Niagara Falls—watching the world go by from a distance, uncertain of her place in it. Rescued from that lonely corner, Penelope found her way to Paws of Grace Sanctuary, where she is slowly discovering what it means to feel safe, seen, and cared for.

Naturally reserved and sensitive, Penelope prefers the comfort of quiet spaces and soft beds, where she can observe without pressure and move at her own pace. She isn’t one to seek out attention, although she has made significant strides and is opening up, she notices kindness—and over time, she responds with subtle signs of trust: a rub against the legs, a soft pawstep closer, a moment of stillness shared.

Penelope’s journey is a quiet one, marked not by leaps but by small, meaningful steps forward. She reminds us that healing doesn’t have a timeline, and that every cat deserves the dignity of moving through the world in their own way. Here at Paws of Grace, she is surrounded by patience, love, and the gentle encouragement that helps even the most guarded hearts begin to open.

Meet Brodie

Brodie arrived at Paws of Grace Sanctuary as a young cat carrying a world of fear in his small frame. So deeply unsure of the world around him, he would physically quiver if you so much as looked in his direction. Whatever his past held, it left him fragile—startled by sound, wary of movement, and terrified of being seen.

In the safety and quiet of the sanctuary, Brodie is learning that not all attention brings harm, and that gentle kindness can be a steady anchor. His progress is slow but deeply meaningful: a moment spent out in the open, a glance that doesn’t end in retreat, the occasional soft sigh of relief when he feels unseen but safe.

Though he still shies away from direct contact, Brodie’s presence is a quiet lesson in patience, empathy, and respect. He reminds us that trust is earned, not expected—and that even the most fearful souls deserve a place where they can simply be, without pressure or fear.

At Paws of Grace, Brodie is given the time, space, and unconditional love he needs to heal at his own pace. He may not be ready for touch, but his courage in facing each new day is its own kind of strength—and we honor it every step of the way.

Meet Liam (Buddy)

Liam (Buddy) is a survivor in every sense of the word. Found alone on the streets, his body told a story of hardship and resilience—scabs and scars from old wounds, a chipped upper canine, and a missing lower one. Years of fighting to survive left their mark not only on his body, but also deep within his spirit. Liam is FIV+, meaning he carries Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. While it can sound scary, FIV isn’t a death sentence. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy lives—especially in stable, low-stress environments like Paws of Grace Sanctuary. FIV affects a cat’s immune system, so regular veterinary care and a calm, indoor lifestyle are key to helping cats like Liam thrive.

Though Liam has found physical safety, emotional healing has been a slower journey. He struggles with behavioral challenges, especially when overstimulated or triggered by past memories—often responding with biting as a defense. His actions aren’t rooted in aggression, but in fear and deeply ingrained survival instincts. Every interaction with Liam is a careful balance of respect, patience, and understanding.

At Paws of Grace, Liam is given what he was denied for so long: a chance to just be, without the need to fight for his life. He has safe spaces to retreat to, a consistent routine, and care from that honors his boundaries and celebrate his small victories.

Liam's story isn’t one of perfection—it’s one of progress, courage, and second chances. He reminds us that even the roughest edges can belong to souls worth loving, and that true sanctuary means meeting each cat exactly where they are.

Meet Bianca

Bianca came to Paws of Grace Sanctuary as a survivor of a cruelty case in Allegany County. Her body bears the visible reminders of what she’s endured—she is deaf, partially blind, and has a broken tail, but her spirit remains quietly unbroken.

Despite her disabilities, Bianca navigates the world with remarkable grace. She relies on her remaining senses—touch, scent, and vibration—to understand her surroundings, and finds comfort in cozy, familiar spaces where she can feel safe and undisturbed. Her movements are cautious but purposeful, and her presence brings a quiet strength to the sanctuary.

Bianca may not hear your voice or see your full expression, but she feels love in other ways: in the warmth of a soft blanket, the calm of a safe room, and the kindness in a gentle touch.

She reminds us that healing isn’t always about fixing what’s broken—it’s about creating a space where broken things are still deeply valued, nurtured, and loved.

At Paws of Grace, Bianca is finally receiving the safety, respect, and care she always deserved. Her story is one of survival, dignity, and the quiet power of sanctuary.

Meet Walter

Walter was found as a stray out in Allegany County, he is a gentle senior soul with a heart full of love and a deep appreciation for the comfort of companionship. After spending over a year overlooked, he found his way to Paws of Grace, where his tender spirit and affectionate nature could finally shine.

Walter is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which means he has a compromised immune system. With a stress-free environment, regular vet care, and a healthy diet, cats with FIV can live long, fulfilling lives—and Walter is living proof.

A true snuggle bug at heart, Walter thrives on closeness. He will melt into your lap, press his face into your hand, and curl up next to you with the sweetest purrs of gratitude. After all those lonely months, Walter doesn’t take love for granted—and he gives it back tenfold.

Meet Gregory

Gregory is a senior man who's journey to Paws of Grace was anything but easy. Worn down from a long road of uncertainty and discomfort, he arrived as a senior medical foster—fragile in body, but holding tightly to a quiet resilience. What was meant to be a temporary stay quickly transformed into a forever haven, as it became clear that Gregory had found the place—and person—he truly needed.

When he first arrived, Gregory presented with signs of suspected cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both testicles fail to descend into the scrotum. After careful diagnostics and specialist consultations, he underwent bilateral orchiopexy, a surgical procedure to locate and remove both testicles. In Gregory’s case, both were found entangled deep in his inguinal canal—a rare and painful complication that had likely caused him significant discomfort for much of his life. The surgery was delicate, but successful, and marked the beginning of his healing.

As Gregory is still recovering, we continue to tackle other chronic conditions that continues to challenge his comfort: feline rhinitis, a persistent inflammation of the nasal passages, and chronic sinusitis, an ongoing condition in which his sinus cavities remain inflamed and filled with mucus. This often causes nasal congestion, discharge, and noisy breathing, and can be difficult to fully resolve. In Gregory’s case, it is further complicated by bone loss in his nasal structures, making management a lifelong process. While there’s no cure, we’re committed to giving him the best possible care and quality of life —relieving discomfort, minimizing flare-ups, and ensuring his days are filled with comfort, consistency, and above all, love.

Through it all, Gregory has blossomed into a playful, spirited boy—full of curiosity and energy, often seen batting at toys or zooming through the room with the joy of a kitten discovering the world anew. His eyes, still soft and expressive, reveal the depth of a soul that has known hardship but never stopped hoping. He adores affection and seeks it out often, pressing into gentle hands for head scratches or curling up beside you for quiet companionship. His transformation is a beautiful reminder of what safety, love, and healing can bring.

Gregory reminds us daily why Paws of Grace exists—for the ones with complicated pasts, ongoing medical needs, and hearts still open to healing. He may not have had the easiest beginning, but here, he’s found peace. And here, he’s home.

Meet Boris

At 13 years young, Boris came to Paws of Grace after the passing of his beloved owner in Arcade, NY—a heartbreaking transition for a senior cat who had known a lifetime of love and routine. Despite the sudden changes and his age, Boris showed an incredible will to live and a gentle, enduring spirit.

Boris has lived his entire life with a heart murmur, but that didn’t stop him from facing one of the biggest medical challenges of his life: an emergency splenectomy—a high-risk surgery to remove his spleen after it became dangerously enlarged. At his age and with his heart condition, the odds were stacked against him, would he pull through the surgery? Would the surgery just become too much during his recovery? Would his red blood cells regenerate? But Boris defied them all.

This miracle boy not only pulled through the life-saving procedure—he thrived. After a few days stay in the highest level of the ICU, Boris was back on his paws, seeking out affection, enjoying his meals, and reclaiming every sun-drenched spot he could find. His resilience is nothing short of inspiring.

Boris is a soft, wise presence in the sanctuary—calm, observant, and endlessly affectionate. He leans into love, purrs when spoken to, and reminds us daily that every life is worth fighting for, no matter the age or condition. He may be a senior, but Boris is living proof that second chances—and miracles—happen every day.

Meet Abigail

Abigail's journey to Paws of Grace began hundreds of miles away in Florida, where she was just one of many waiting for a safe space to call home. But sometimes, fate has other plans—and so does a persistent little one with a big personality.

While our Founder was volunteering at a local rescue, she met Abigail and instantly felt that magnetic pull. There was just something about her—the perfect blend of spunk, sweetness, and wide-eyed curiosity. After a few days of spending time with her, it became impossible for her to walk away. What started as just another volunteer shift quickly turned into what we lovingly call a “volunteer fail”—because Abigail was not going to be left behind, not for one more night.

Now a beloved permanent resident at Paws of Grace, Abigail brings joy and liveliness to the sanctuary each day. She’s playful and full of energy, always ready for a chase, a tumble, or a cozy snuggle session when the zoomies are done. Her zest for life is contagious, and her affectionate spirit reminds us all of the beauty in taking a chance—and following your heart.

Meet Theodore (Teddy)

Teddy’s path to Paws of Grace was a winding one—transferred through a couple local rescues, each hoping to find him the safe and loving forever home he truly deserved. Along the way, he charmed every caregiver with his gentle eyes, his yearn for affection, and unwavering sweetness.

Teddy is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), meaning his immune system is compromised. While that might sound intimidating at first, FIV isn’t a death sentence. It’s a manageable condition, and with proper care, low stress, and regular vet checkups, FIV+ cats like Teddy can live long, healthy, happy lives.

Through every move and moment of uncertainty, Teddy has remained remarkably loving. He’s a mellow boy with a soft heart, happiest when curled up beside someone who will give him gentle pets and the reassurance he’s finally home.

Paws of Grace is honored to give him the safety and stability he’s waited so patiently for—and in return, Teddy gives us quiet devotion and the softest purrs of gratitude. He may have been passed along, but never passed over again. Teddy is home.
