Meet Oliver

Oliver is a gentle 7-year-old soul who has finally found his forever home here at Paws of Grace Sanctuary. His journey has been anything but simple—after making the long trip from Florida, he passed through three different rescues in Western New York before finding the peace and stability he deserves.

Oliver lives with several medical challenges. He is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which means his immune system is weaker than most cats and he needs a little extra care to stay healthy. He has kidney disease, requiring a special diet, close monitoring, and subcutaneous fluids every other day to help keep him hydrated and comfortable. In addition, Oliver also has a significant heart murmur, so his heart health is watched carefully to ensure he remains well.

Despite these hurdles, Oliver’s resilient spirit shines through every day. He greets his caretaker with quiet affection, reminding us that love and comfort matter more than anything else.

At Paws of Grace, Oliver now has the safety, care, and lifelong support he needs. He is a true testament to second chances and the heart of what our sanctuary stands for.

Meet Sandy

Sandy was once the neighborhood indoor-outdoor cat who always remained a mystery. No one quite knew where she lived, but she made her presence known with her frequent visits. Over time, we began keeping a more watchful eye on her when we noticed she was experiencing significant loose stool and didn’t seem quite herself.

One Sunday, we brought her to the vet to get the support and relief she so desperately needed. The exam revealed that Sandy had only two teeth remaining, though her bloodwork looked good and her fecal tests showed no parasites.

Just a few days later, we learned that Sandy did, in fact, lived close by. Although, as time had passed, she has found her way back to Paws of Grace as a permanent resident and we welcomed her with open arms.

Since then, we began further testing, including an ultrasound, which revealed a 4mm bladder stone. She is now on a special gastrointestinal diet, along with supplements to help restore balance to her microbiome.

Sandy has embraced sanctuary life, and is allowing her body to rest. We are grateful to have her with us and to be able to provide her with the space and care she so deserves.
